For more then two decades, Howa has gained experiences with the supply of secondary fuels in cement- lime kilns and to power plants. Many of the biggest European concerns rank among our clients and contractual partners.

In 2007 we began with the energetic utilization of biogenic materials. In the meantime we trade with most diverse material streams from a huge diversity of world regions.

Through the wide geographical adjustment of our resources we are able to meet the continuously alternating shares of transport. Moreover, this adjustment increases the reliability of our deliveries – are there temporarily, often also seasonal calamities in the acquisition of certain biomasses from one region, we are usually able to compensate for these biomasses by materials from another region.

Over the past 5 years, we delivered more than 2 million tons of industrial and biogenic fuels.

In the following there is a selection of the most common materials:

Secondary fuels

Out of industrial and process waste we are able to produce secondary fuels with defined rates of biomasses, the keyword is “green energies”. The percentage of biomasses originates from the paper, cardboard packing and wood rates. It can average between 40 and 90 weight percentage.

Wood pellets

We merchandise the entire annual output for different producers of wood pellets in Western and Eastern Europe. Usually, the wood pellets meet the DIN 51731. We also reckon wood pellets which nearly entirely meet the criteria of the DIN-Plus and Önorm among our product range. Long-term delivery contracts can be arranged as well as the delivery of spot-quantities.

Wood chips

Prodominantly, they originate from European provenances, in rare cases from other world regions. As to their origin, we especially pay attention to the fact that the wood cuttings are derived from long-term forest stands.

Timber and demoliton wood

We deliver these materials according to the physical and chemical requirements of the recipient. We have the opportunity to deliver amounts and qualities of long-term relevance.

Peat briquets and peat pellets

In Ireland, Sweden and the Baltic countries, peat is still employed as a standard fuel. In order to optimize costs of transport and improve the combustibilities, we are able to deliver peat pellets or briquets. Through our cooperation with a partner who looks back on more than 15 years of experiences in the former Soviet Union, we are able to purchase these materials in huge amounts and thereby guarantee a high security-level of delivery.

Shells of palm tree seeds

This material out of the palm tree oil industry originates predominantly from Asia. Over the last years, palm tree oil was given a negative spin because rainforests have been cut down in order to create new palm tree oil plantations. We only work with those Asian partners who do not cut down rainforests in order to create new plantations.

Expeller of palm tree seeds

Palm tree oil is gained from the palm tree seed. Expeller of palm tree seeds are a waste product which results from the process of pressing the palm tree fruits. This material is mostly employed as animal feed, but also qualifies brilliantly for the employment in coal power stations. A high rate of employment and good features in grinding work increase the interst of this material for coal power stations.

Remains of olives

During the production of olive oil, different residual wastes, which can be employed in the production of secondary fuels, are created: olive cakes, olive seeds and olive mash. The olive seeds can mostly be employed in Fluidized bed installations. Olive cake is used in the incineration in different facilities and we are also able to deliver it in form of pellets.

Hazelnut seeds

This material originates from the region around the Black Sea. Through the cooperation with local partners, who also take care of the local logistics, we are able to purchase this material in interesting amounts.

We have huge experience as to the transport of biomasses by truck, train and ship. We cooperate with well-known logistic companies all around the world. In water carriage, we conduct amounts starting from 2500 up to 30.000 tons per ship.

And no matter if our clients demand 2000 or 40.000 tons of biomasses per month, we take care that they receive the materials in their ordered quality and quantity.
